Ingolstadt, Germany – Audi today announced the debut of its next-generation electric vehicle architecture: the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). Co-developed with Porsche, the PPE platform represents a major technological leap for Audi as it accelerates toward becoming a fully electric premium brand by 2033.
The PPE architecture is engineered for versatility and performance, capable of supporting a wide range of vehicle segments including sedans, crossovers, and SUVs. The first production models to launch on the new platform will be the Audi Q6 e-tron and Audi A6 e-tron, both slated for market entry in late 2025.
> “With PPE, we’re setting new standards in range, charging speed, and digitalization,” said Oliver Hoffmann, Member of the Board for Technical Development at Audi AG. “It is the cornerstone of Audi’s electrified future.”
Key Features of the PPE Platform:
800-volt electrical system enabling ultra-fast DC charging up to 270 kW
WLTP range exceeding 600 km (373 miles) on select models
Flat-floor design for enhanced interior space and comfort
Rear- and all-wheel drive variants, with performance models exceeding 500 hp
Advanced driver assistance systems, including Level 3 readiness
PPE also underscores Audi’s commitment to sustainability. All PPE-based vehicles will be manufactured in net carbon-neutral facilities, with increased use of recycled and responsibly sourced materials throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
The Q6 e-tron will bridge the gap between the compact Q4 and full-size Q8 e-tron, while the A6 e-tron reimagines the iconic executive sedan for the electric era. Both models showcase Audi’s latest advancements in digital lighting, virtual cockpit UX, and over-the-air software updates.
